Rehearsal space available [example]
Example Arts Center has a dance rehearsal/classroom space we would like to make available to the community on an ongoing basis. We’re located at 5155 Example Ave. in south-central Omaha.
The space is approx. 35 x 60 feet with a 10-foot ceiling. It has a sprung wood floor with vinyl dance flooring on top, and a sound system with CD player. It should be ideal for rehearsals, master classes or short-form workshops. Our target rental rate is $15 per hour, but discounts/donations are possible for nonprofit users.
The space is already in use for some of our own regularly-scheduled programs, but we have lots of time slots still available! Please contact facility director George Example to discuss — gexample@examplearts.org or (402) 551-1234
Hair stylist needed [example]
Example Dance Ensemble would like to locate a creative hair stylist to work with us on an upcoming performance project.
We need someone who can create highly individualistic, expressive hairstyles that are both visually striking and “danceable.” At this point we don’t have a budget, but the stylist would receive full production credit and coverage in all publicity materials.
We’d like to select a stylist by March 15. Please ask candidates to contact artistic director Mary Example at mexample@exampledance.org
Dancers needed for choreography development [example]
Jane Example, an independent choreographer moving to Omaha this spring, writes:
“I would like to make contact with a small group of motivated, physically confident dancers who would like to work with me. At this point I have no specific performance plans – am more interested in developing choreography ideas and building a basis for future projects.
I have an MFA in dance from Example University and have presented my work in solo and group concerts in Exampleville and on regional festivals. My work primarily has a Cunningham emphasis, but I enjoy working with dancers from all disciplines. I’m especially interested in dancers who combine a modern-dance background with another technique area such as pointe work or tap.
I’d like to have an initial meeting the week of March 1, so please contact me before then if you might be interested. You can email me at jexample@dev.null or find me on Facebook as Jane Example Choreog. Thanks for your interest!”
